My take after the Fulham Match
I have to say Tottenham played like Tottenham of last year. They were unable to keep a 3-1 lead and really should have been up 4 or 5 nil at some point. I believe this game was a great example of why Tottenham is a 'best of the rest' club and not a top 4:
- The top 4 clubs would have put the game away with the absurd amount of chances they had. The Fulham defense was shambolic and was literally giving the ball away for the 1st 40 minutes and they only managed 2 goals and took a 2-1 half time lead.
- The defense lacked confidence. After the Fulham's 1st goal, they became rather shaky and seemed to expect the worse. Clint Dempsey's header was clinical and really gave a lift to the fans going into the half and Fulham kept plugging away even down 3-1.

My conclusion: A team that is unable to maintain a 3-1 lead routinely AND doesn't seem to have a killer instinct I think reflects more on the coach than the players. Watching last year's tottenham and this year's tottenham I don't see much difference in the backline formation and they seem to have the same unassuredness(sp?), but then again they really didn't do so much during the off-season to remedy that and they can't wait for Ledley King to be the King of 2 or 3 years ago.
I guess I was just disappointed, yet not surprised by this result. Season is slowly slipping away again. I'm not a Tottenham fan, but definitely frustrated by seeing quality talent not perform to their level, kind of what happened to my Barcelona last year.

I'm a bit worried as well
but do feel that having King back would make a big difference. The Arsenal game takes on more importance than usual which also worries me!
