I have to say that I am a bit puzzled that we have not seen more activity by the club over the past couple of weeks since the season ended. While there has been some good news with the signing of Gio dos Santos from Barca, I do feel that the club needs to do more to clean up the squad overall. I have mentioned in the past that I feel as if we are carrying too much dead wood at the club and that there needs to be a clear out of some players who we do not feel are going to take us forward.

I know that there are some at the club who feel as if we have got a decent system in place in which we loan out players we are not using but frankly, in my opinion, we need to clear the decks. 

There is uncertainty caused by collecting lots of average players in the squad. Young players are not sure if they are likely to get a game, others may feel that their places are at risk. Further, there is a lack of clear direction when you have lots of players kicking around the club.

Comolli has to come in for some grief as far as I am concerned. I think that it should be relatively easy for him to cull the squad of 5-7 players, pull in some cash and bring in a blue chip player or two. What do you think?
