The latest rumor in the silly transfer season is that Bent is on his way to Sunderland in a transfer that would see us recoup all of our outlay of 12 million pounds. I am not so sure about this one as Berbatov looks very likely to leave and Bent is likely to fill that gap (at least in part).

While Bent did not have a perfect season, he was a bit unlucky with injuries etc. and I could see him having a strong season. His speed is a real asset in a side coached by Juande and I think that if the club and player are patient and stick together for this season they could be rewarded.

I would say that if we sell Berbatov, the Keane and Bent pair will start the season and then we have Gio + one coming off the bench. We have a couple of other young strikers who could push for the fourth spot and Modric can play behind one striker so maybe we do not need to replace Berbatov.

We could seek to go into the season with Keane, Bent, Gio, the two young strikers and Modric playing their on occasion. I think we need stability in this squad and think we should keep Bent -- what do you think?
